Specialized environments set the stage for neurodevelopmental growth, healing, and wholeness.
Jacob’s Ladder crafts an individualized program for each client based on comprehensive evaluations and assessments. It includes recommendations for implementation in one of our four developmentally focused environments with student-teacher relationships built on love, compassion, and unwavering positive regard. Each environment, located on our two campuses or delivered remotely through our Community of Care, is built with great care and intention to support each client’s unique journey.
Our Four Environments
The Hope School
Clients who need help regulating emotions, behaviors, or social interactions or have specific academic challenges thrive in The Hope School. This is true even if they have failed to succeed in other educational environments. Our wrap-around care services support families in managing behaviors and emotional states in daily life, maintaining continuity in all settings.
Frequently, clients in The Hope School receive diagnoses related to high-functioning autism, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), anxiety disorders, social, relational, and behavioral challenges, specific learning differences, difficulties with self-regulation, and mood disorders.
This environment offers intensive 1:1 care for clients due to medical concerns, behavior needs, or level of neurodevelopmental focus needed. The Ladder provides extensive therapeutic and neurodevelopmental interventions and individualized care with a focus on speech/language abilities, mobility, and independence in activities of daily living.
Client diagnoses may include pervasive developmental disorder (PDD), autism spectrum disorder, genetic conditions, cerebral palsy, and learning and language delays. Stroke recovery is also a specialty of The Ladder.
For infants, elements of the Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care support potential early intervention needs. Well-babies can also benefit from Foundations, establishing a healthy and efficient neurological system. A highly enriching program optimizes brain growth and development using the latest neuroscience and child development research information.
Designed for young adults, Compass Beyond addresses areas of independence, including home life readiness, educational planning, vocational training, and community enrichment. On- and off-campus experiential learning opportunities enable daily practice of independent skills, and continued progress monitoring supports achieving goals. Clients who plan to attend a post-secondary program following graduation can participate in customized educational preparation activities.
Community of Care
We deliver our Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care to students and families worldwide through our ever-expanding remote services. Individualized programs can be provided in the home, at school, or through community-based organizations, with our providers, or through in-depth training and oversight of providers located where services are needed.
Intentionally Built Places and Programs Support Transformative Outcomes
Jacob’s Ladder cannot be defined or contained by classrooms. Our environments promote healing, wholeness, and human connection as we provide transformative care through individualized brain-based therapeutic and educational programs.
