Specialized environments set the stage for neurodevelopmental growth, healing, and wholeness.
Jacob’s Ladder crafts an individualized program for each student, based on comprehensive evaluations and assessments. It includes recommendations for implementation in one of our four developmentally focused environments with student-teacher relationships built on love, compassion, and unwavering positive regard. Each environment, located on our two campuses or delivered remotely through our Community of Care, is built with great care and intention to support each child’s unique journey.
Our Four Environments
The Hope School
Students who need help with regulating emotions, behaviors, or social interactions or have specific academic challenges thrive at The Hope School. This is true even if they have been unsuccessful in other educational environments. Our wrap-around care services support families in managing behaviors and emotional states in daily life, maintaining continuity in all settings.
Frequently, students at The Hope School received diagnoses related to High Functioning Autism, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Anxiety Disorders, Social, Relational and Behavioral Challenges, specific learning differences, lack of self-regulation ability, and mood disorders.
This environment offers intensive 1:1 care for students due to medical concerns, behavior needs, or level of neurodevelopmental focus needed The Ladder provides extensive therapeutic and neurodevelopmental interventions and individualized care with focus on speech/language abilities, mobility, and independence in daily tasks.
Student diagnoses include Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, genetic conditions, Cerebral Palsy, and learning and language delay. Stroke recovery is also a specialty of The Ladder.
For infants, elements of the Interpersonal Whole-Brain Model of Care support potential early intervention needs. Well-babies can also benefit from Foundations, establishing a healthy and efficient neurological system. A highly enriching program optimizes brain growth and development using the latest information in neuroscience and child development research.
Designed for young adults, Compass Beyond addresses areas of independence including home life readiness, educational planning, vocational training, and community enrichment. On- and off-campus experiential learning opportunities enable daily practice of independent skills and continued progress monitoring supports achievement of goals. Students who plan to attend a post-secondary program following graduation can participate in customized educational preparation activities.
